Bahrain International Airport’s Aircraft Recovery Services Team trains in Germany

Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) Aircraft Recovery Services Team received specialized technical training in Germany as part of Bahrain Airport Company’s (BAC) initiative to develop its staff for the betterment of all Airport users.
The Aircraft Recovery Services Team made up of seventeen members from BAC and three from Bahrain Airport Services (BAS), are responsible for salvaging and recovering key components from an aircraft in the case of any incident at the Airport. Salvage procedures are designed to return the airport to normal operations and supports investigation into causes.
The Team underwent a 10 day training course last month which included theoretical training in Munich Airport, followed by a practical training course in Stuttgart Airport, involving aircraft recovery role play. The training program was organized by BAC’s consultant partners Munich Airport, to ensure the Team is well prepared and trained to salvage an aircraft in the event of an incident.

A post training reception was hosted on Sunday 16th of January by BAS at their catering facility which was attended by senior officials from BAC, headed by Gordon Dewar, officials from BAS, headed by CEO Phil Bowel, Michael Hoehenberger from Munich Airport and the Aircraft Recovery Services Team.
