Legendary Astronauts Land in Bahrain
17 October 2010

Bahrain International Airport (BIA) welcomed three of the most acclaimed NASA astronauts as they landed in Bahrain. Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, Navy Captain James Lovell, who nursed the ill-fated Apollo 13 back to Earth and Eugene Cernan, the last man on the moon landed in Bahrain International Airport last week.

Their visit was part of the Legends of Aerospace Tour, which consists of inspirational visits to US service men and women stationed in various locations throughout the region. They were received at BIA by Bahrain Airport Company officials who were delighted to assist them in their arrival and facilitate the visiting delegation through the Airport’s processes.

The arrival of these legendary astronauts is the latest example of the high profile figures that fly through Bahrain International Airport, capitalizing on its strategic location, smooth service and great hospitality.
