Cavotec has extensive experience in the aviation industry and is well known as a manufacturer and complete systems integrator, with active operations on five continents. The contract aims at introducing Cavotec’s technology of complete ground support equipment which includes the pre-conditioned air system (PCAir), 400 Hz power supply, portable water supply and blue water supply systems This new technology is an innovative and eco-friendly system designed for supplying aircrafts more efficiently and at a lower cost.

Cavotec will also deliver and install pop-up units, 11kv sub-stations, a water treatment plant and a Vacuum Evacuation System.
Installation work is due for completion in February 2011 with a subsequent operation and maintenance period for one year.

Mr. Abdulla Mohammed Ahmed also added: “The aim of this new system is to create a seamless ground process at Bahrain International Airport, saving both time and cost. This ensures a competitive edge for the airport as these cost savings are passed on to airlines, and all potential users of the system.
