Bahrain Air flies to Kochi

Bahrain Air launched its first service to India, with an inaugural flight to Kochi, Kerala. The non-stop flight to Cochin International Airport left Bahrain at 10.40am.

Marking the new service, a reception was held at Bahrain International Airport, under the patronage of Civil Aviation Affairs Under-Secretary Captain Abdulrahman Al Gaoud.

The service between Kochi and Bahrain marks the beginning of an expansion plan that will link the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East through the airline's hub in Bahrain, said Bahrain Air managing director Ibrahim Al Hamer, who was heading Bahrain Air's official delegation to Kochi.

Present at the launch were Civil Aviation Affairs acting under-secretary Ahmed Nemat Ali, assistant under-secretary for airport affairs Nabeel Taqi and Civil Aviation Affairs, chief of travel agents and cargo Shaikh Mubarak bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Bahrain Airport Company chief executive Dr Osama Al Ali, Bahrain Airport Services General Manager Salman Al-Mahmeed, , Indian Embassy second secretary R Raghunathan.
