Gulf Air Group Holding to increase shares in Bahrain Airport Services to 44 per cent

Gulf Air Group Holding increased its ownership in Bahrain Airport Services (BAS), the ground handling services provider at Bahrain International Airport (BIA), to 44 per cent, strengthening the Mumtalakat-owned holding company’s control over a key strategic aviation asset. The cash injection will also allow BAS to become a major regional and possibly international player, offering its ground handling services to airports in other countries. His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of Gulf Air Group Holding Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed and BAS Board of Directors Chairman Mohammed Jalal signed the agreement during the second day of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2018. In attendance were the Gulf Air Group Holding Board of Directors and officials from BAS and Bahrain Airport Company (BAC).

Bahrain Airport Company signs agreement with Gulf Engineering House to design and renovate Civil Aviation Affairs building

The Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) building, which once served as the Kingdom’s main airport, will be transformed into a private aviation terminal to cater to VIPs and business leaders, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced. The new, state-of-the-art facility is expected to be completed by 2020 and will offer various services to meet the needs of private jet owners and users travelling through Bahrain International Airport (BIA).

Bahrain Airport Company to host Airport Conference at Bahrain International Airshow 2018

Senior decision makers from leading regional airlines and airports will come together to discuss the impact of digital technology on airports, ongoing efforts to develop the Gulf as a tourism destination, and numerous other issues shaping the region’s aviation sector at this year’s Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) Airport Conference. Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) is hosting the event under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Engineer Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed. Titled ‘Into the Future: Challenges and Opportunities for Gulf Region Airports and Airlines’, it will be held on 15 November at the Farnborough International News Network Theatre in the BIAS Exhibition Hall.

Fuel Farm complex to transform Bahrain into leading regional aviation fuel services hub

Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) new fuel farm complex will cement the Kingdom’s status as major regional aviation fuel services hub when it launches in mid-2019. Its developer, the BAC Jet Fuel Company (BJFCO) will showcase the project’s latest milestones before the global aviation community at the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2018, highlighting how it will streamline aviation fuel supply and operation processes at BIA and increase its fuel storage capacity to 30,000 cubic meters, allowing the Kingdom’s facilities to handle larger aircraft volumes.
