Introduction

Wholly owned by Gulf Air Holding Group (GFG), Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) was established in 2008, to manage and operate Bahrain International Airport (BIA) and acquired this responsibility in March 2010.

BAC's core objectives are to elevate the role of BIA as a contributor to the economy and further enhance the airport's status, infrastructure and facilities for the benefit of all stakeholders and users of the airport. BAC also optimises the Airport's revenue streams by diversifying the business through both aeronautical and non-aeronautical activities.

BAC operates as a commercial entity with transparency and commitment to build on the airport's status as a major international airport in the region through world-class infrastructure, facilities and services.

BIA's development is part of Bahrain's strategic economic development plan for its Economic Vision 2030.

At the operational level, the company is continuously working on improving operations, building extra capacity and providing state-of-the-art technologies and international best practice, all geared towards maximising the clients' and operators' working experience in addition to the passengers travelling experience. This includes boosting passenger, aircraft and cargo capacities and services.
