Minister of Transportation hails Bahrain Airport Company CEO’s election as member of Airports Council International Board of Directors

His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed congratulated Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah on being elected as a director on the Airport Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific Regional Board, the governing body overseeing regional policy development and fiscal management. Mr Al Binfalah is the first Bahraini to hold this prestigious international position and will serve for a period of three years. The announcement was made by the board at its regular meeting in Hong Kong on the sidelines of the ACI Asia-Pacific/World General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition 2019.

Bahrain Airport Company records surge in passengers and cargo during Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2019

A total of 5,077 passengers travelled through Bahrain International Airport (BIA) in the build up to the 2019 Formula One (F1) Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, a 14 per cent spike compared to the previous year, BIA’s operator and managing body, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced. In addition, more than 1,564 tonnes of race-related cargo was processed, a 23 per cent increase from 2018. All F1 operations at BIA were executed smoothly and efficiently, which reflects the effective strategic planning and collaborative efforts of all involved parties.

Bahrain Airport Company records more than BD19million net profit during exceptional year

Gulf Air Group Holding (GFG) Chairman, His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed announced a BD19.3 million net profit for Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), in 2018, a significant jump compared to BD12.9 million the previous year. The growth witnessed during the year is attributable to an overall increase in BIA’s activities. The figures were revealed during a recent GFG Board of Directors meeting headed by HE the Minister.

Bahrain international Airport welcomes inaugural Air India Express flight from Kunnur

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), welcomed the arrival of the inaugural Air India Express flight from Kunnur, India to Bahrain, following the commencement of a new service. As the first direct route from Kunnur to Bahrain, it opens up many new opportunities for tourism and trade between the two countries. A BAC delegation led by Chief Commercial Officer, Ayman Zainal received the inaugural flight alongside Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, His Excellency Alok Kumar Sinha, Air India Express Country Manager, Saket Saran, and other officials.

Bahrain International Airport revs up for the biggest Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix to date

This year’s Formula One (F1) Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix weekend will run for four days for the first time, attracting a surge in tourism and logistics income to the Kingdom, and providing a further boost to the local economy. Bahrain International Airport (BIA) has already finalised preparations to accommodate the predicted spike in visitor numbers and is poised to ensure they receive a warm Bahraini welcome, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced. The race, which takes place from March 28 to 31 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), is the Kingdom’s biggest F1 event to date, expected to fill up hotel rooms and significantly increase shopper traffic. Attracting international superstars and fans from around the world, the race shines a global spotlight on the Kingdom, with more than half a billion fans expected to tune in.
