Bahrain Airport Company and Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs review aviation security for new terminal

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) and Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA), the Kingdom’s aviation regulator, held a strategic meeting to review aviation security plans for Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) new Passenger Terminal Building. In attendance were BAC Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah and senior officials from BAC and CAA. Participants discussed new terminal access control strategy, airport security zones, including enhanced process for security passes, key management system, and the new airport security pass format.

Mr Al Binfalah said: “The Bahrain CAA plays an important role in maintaining the high security standards at BIA through their oversight responsibilities, and their support is even more vital as we prepare to transition operations to the new Passenger Terminal Building. The meeting provided an excellent platform to explore in detail key aspects of the new facility’s security infrastructure and systems, which are designed to ensure a secure and efficient airport experience for passengers and staff alike.”

He added: “The entire aviation value chain has a role to play in keeping the industry safe. Close collaboration with government authorities and Bahrain CAA is essential to ensure the security systems and procedures implemented at the new terminal are in line with international standards and local regulations. With the continued support of our partners, we look forward to achieving the Airport Modernisation Programme’s objectives and increasing the aviation sector’s contribution to the national economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.”
